Help mother Eleena save her critically injured daughter Aya
Finland
My name is Sini Saarela, I come from Finland. I am running this fundraising campaign on behalf of Eleena Maeen Siyam. We are collecting funds to help to save the life of her daughter Aya, and to care for her son Younis. I have verified this family and your donations will surely go to them. We are in touch with daily, and am trying to help the family in all ways possible.
Meet my dear friend Eleena, a wonderful mother and the kindest of a friend, and meet her lovely daughter Aya. Please open your heart to this wounded girl, whose childhood and play has been stolen. Join to help to save her future, join to support her mother!
Aya Akram Younis Abu Siam is two and half years old. She used to be a happy toddler bringing joy and laughter to her parents and siblings. Aya was the true soul and joy of her family. But little Aya got injured in a drone attack and is now paralysed and not able to speak.
Eleena writes:
“Aya was playing with the other children outside of our tent. A drone landed on a tent next to us, and there was an explotion, Aya was close and she was hit by shrapnel in her head.
Aya suffered a hemorrhage, multiple skull fractures, and a partial skull fracture on the left side. Aya’s condition was extremely critical for the first weeks: she was kept for several weeks in the intense care unit where she was fighting for her life.
Aya became partially paralysed on the right hand side of her body. Aya has lost her ability to speak, and she cannot walk.
My beautiful little girl used to play and run around laughing like other children, but the occupier’s airstrike stole her childhood. Aya has the right to play and laugh like other children. What is the fault of this little girl who, while playing with other children, is being attacked?”
Eleena and her two children, Aya and her little brother Younis who is 1 year old live in Mawasi area of Khan Younis, where they have been displaced to from their home in Rahaf.
Eleena is worried about her children, they cannot provide them with food, medicine, diapers or safety.
Aya’s condition is critical, her parents are appealing:
We appeal to all governmental and international institutions, human rights organizations, the World Health Organization, the International Committee of the Red Cross, and all those capable of urgently intervening to save the life of Aya Akram Younis Abu Siam.
Aya sustained a serious head injury, resulting in partial loss of movement and the inability to speak. She is in dire need of urgent treatment abroad, which is unavailable under the current circumstances.
We warn that delaying travel and treatment will exacerbate her health condition, as she has begun to noticeably lose weight, amid the ongoing famine and lack of the most basic necessities of life.
We appeal to people of conscience, and all those who can make our voices heard or offer a helping hand, to stand with us to save the life of our daughter Aya. She deserves life and treatment.
